Happy New Year!

Hello fellow Simmers, friends, and readers!

It saddens me that I’ve been away for so long. A lot has happened, not all for the good. My 2021 was, literally, the year from Hell, and I’m so glad to see the back end of it. I don’t want to go into a lot of specifics, but I will say it was the worst year of my life. I battled some health issues, including a bad bout of depression and anxiety. My husband went through some crap, which added to my depression and anxiety. Believe me when I say it was the most horrendous year I’ve ever had.

With dealing with all that, it seems all my hobbies have gone on the back burner. My writing has been nonexistent, and my YouTube channels have certainly suffered. It’s a time I wish I could forget.

Thankfully, I’m happy to report that things are looking so, so much better. I’m getting my mojo back, my husband is feeling much better, and my health has improved both physically and mentally. I’m looking forward to a much happier and healthier year in 2022, and that includes a better outlook and more time with my hobbies.

It hasn’t been all bad though. 🙂

Meet our newest addition to the family. This is Brody, our five- month-old Beagle puppy. Isn’t he adorable?

We adopted him at the end of September, and he’s certainly kept us on our toes. He’s such a sweet little guy and very smart. He catches on to commands right away. However, being a Beagle, he does have a stubborn streak. But how can you be frustrated for long looking at that face? 🙂

I couldn’t resist another adorable picture of Brody. He loves his bed and will often be found curled up in it. Just as often, he loves having his head hanging off of it. LOL! No matter how many times I see this, it always makes me laugh.

But let’s backtrack a little. In July, we adopted a rescue girl, and this is her. Everyone, meet Megan. She’s a total princess and always wants to be the center of attention.

Alexander Graham Bell is doing great. When we got done making my craft room, we did another home improvement project to make a mancave for my husband. We call that “The Annex.” My craft room is called “The Sanctuary.” Anyway, I have to get permission from the boys to enter the Annex. The only time they let me in is when the hubs wants me to fetch wine. Otherwise, this is the treatment I get.

In July of 2020, my beautiful. sweet Caleb made his journey to the Rainbow Bridge. He was thirteen, which is a good life for a Golden Retriever. His hips had been steadily going bad for the last couple years of his life and finally completely gave out, making him unable to get to his feet or walk anymore. I still miss him every single day.

So, for a while, we were down to having only Alex until Megan and Brody came along. We have a full house now with lots of love, laughter, and yes, still the occasional accident.

What does this all mean? Well, it means that I’ll be posting regularly again. If you’ve been hanging in here with me, thank you so much! I appreciate you all more than you know. I sincerely didn’t mean to drop off the face of the planet. It’s just that sometimes when real life gives you a major curve ball, you lose sight of where you are going, and the road is often hard to find.

I’ve been familiarizing myself with my storylines and have fallen in love with my characters all over again. It’s time that we do what we can to get Lenora out of the fix she’s in. We need to see if Greta made it safely to Sunlit Tides. Can Neil and Valerie pull off their double agent Bonnie & Clyde roles? We need to look in on Tyrone and the children. What will Mathilda and Liam’s role be? I hope you all will keep reading to find out this and more as our story continues to unfold.

Diary of Sims, short stories, and other things will appear on this blog, too. My SimLit Legacies blog will also be updated in the near future. You can find the link to that blog on the home page. If you haven’t done so already, please check it out.

I also haven’t forgotten about the stories I read as well. I’m sorry I haven’t been reading or commenting for the longest time, but that will be changing as well.

Wishing you all every happiness in 2022.

With lots of love, well wishes, and virtual hugs,

Sharon, aka. Sweet Nightingale

Dedicated Simmer but late to the party. :) I started playing Sims in 2011, having learned with Sims 3. I've come to love other Sims games but TS3 is my go-to game. I started out as a Sims Let's Player on YouTube, then focused my attention toward SimLit. I like reading and writing a variety of genres. I primarily write romances and think I'm pretty good at pulling on the heartstrings. :) I tend to beat up my characters a bit but am not always mean. I tend to go toward Supernatural storylines but can and will write more "normal" scenarios if need be.

  1. So very sorry about Caleb! What a beautiful pup he was. I’m glad things are turning around for you. No doubt 2021 needed it’s behind kicked on behalf of all of us! Go slow and take your time coming back. Everyone will understand.

    • Awww, I can’t tell you what your comment means to me. It’s nice to know I haven’t been forgotten. Thank you. Yes, Caleb was a beautiful boy and was my heart. There are times when his absence is still felt so deeply. Oh yes! 2021 totally needs its butt kicked. I don’t think it’s been a great year for a lot of people. Getting back into the groove of writing regularly is hard but I’m doing my best. 🙂 With such a long absence and a huge time gap since I’d put up a chapter, I need to get things moved along. But yeah, I want to do it justice and be happy with the way I’m telling the story, so slow and steady wins the race.

      • Last time I put out a chapter was Sept 2019. Right before we found out mom had cancer. I would love to get back to it and I miss my story family. I really want to finish it. But I think what is the point now. Will anyone care? So I don’t know what I am going to do. Posing takes up way too much of my time already and I don’t know if I want to add to my plate. Writing a story does tend to be like a part time job almost.

        • Oh my goodness! Yeah, it really is hard to get back into it when you’ve been away for so long. I’m sorry you’ve had so much to deal with. Real life can totally suck, and cancer is such a devastating thing, not only for the person going through it but for the family, too. I can understand the apprehension about starting up again, especially with the same characters. Time passes and the characters kinda grow distant. You’re right though. Writing and posting these things do take up a lot of time, especially when illustrating the chapters with the game. For me, getting the screenshots is more of a challenge than actually writing the chapter. I reckon the blog isn’t going anywhere and will be there waiting for you should you decide to get back into it one day. I do hope you keep making poses though. 🙂 We Sims 3’ers need a lot more poses.

          • Cripes! I can’t believe I missed this comment. Wow, you do keep busy! I’ll definitely check out your Tumblr link and follow it. I haven’t put anything up on my Tumblr but need to get my carcass in gear and do something with it. I’m kinda late to the whole Tumblr thing but I guess it’s a great place to find poses and other CC that may not be on other sites.

  2. I’ve missed you so much! I thought about you a lot while you were away. It’s amazing to know I’ll have the delight of seeing your stories in my Reader again. Caleb’s loss was a hard blow, I know. I’m sorry for your loss. Your new adoptions look so cute. I’m glad they found a loving home with you and your husband. Can’t wait to see what’s coming up for you!

    • I don’t know if I’ve replied to this yet. For some rason, your comments started going into my spam folder. From now on, I’ll have to check that regularly to make sure things keep working the way they should.

It’s so great to be writing again and to have been missed and thought of. I hate when RL puts a monkey wrench into my fun. I love writing my stories and interacting with everyone. I feel that you and I are special Sims friends, and I know I always look forward to your comments. I have catching up to do on your blog, too, and I will get there. I’m dying to see how things turn out wit Kai and Jade as well as reading the next generation. Yeah, I’m behind.

Caleb’s loss was a total blow for sure. We’ve had to send several doggies to the Bridge, but it never gets easier. Caleb was my heart and I still miss him terribly. Oh yes! Our new adoptees are doing well, and I’m so glad we got them. They keep life quite entertaining, let me tell you. 🙂 What would life be without our animal friends/kids? 🙂

I’m so looking forward to getting my stories moved onward again. You know we’ve got to get that power couple reunited. 🙂

      • We ARE special sims friends, chickie! 😀 I really look forward to seeing what happens in your story. And I feel for you and all the frustrations you’ve had this last year.

I know Caleb was so special to you. He was such a sweetheart. They’re all little darlings, but some touch us more than we can say.

Yes to the power couple! 😀

  3. Hey!!! It’s so great to hear from you, too. Awww, so glad you like our new pups, and thank you so much for the condolences on Caleb. It was a devastating loss, and he left a big void when he had to go. So true about needing a break. I just feel bad that so much time has elapsed since I put up a chapter. I’ve missed my characters so, so much, and I’m so looking forward to reconnecting with them. Oh, remember your Sim crush every time you’d see Silvan, my fairy? Well, he will be in the next chapter, or at least mention of him and a picture will be. He’ll soon be taking a pretty active role in the story.

    • Awww, thank you so much. I’ve missed everyone and I sure have missed writing my stories. My characters have also been terribly missed. Thank you so much for sticking with me. 🙂 🙂 Hugs!

This is where it all began. Meet Lenora Landgraab, the star of this blog. She's our main character in "Forever in 'Time" as well as its suppliments. She started out as a Sim I created in 2013, and the rest is history. She took on a life of her own. Without her, this blog would not exist. She has so much of a story to tell so if you're new here, I suggest reading her backstory first before diving into the story proper. I hope ou love reading about her as much as I love telling her story.
